Event Space – Upstairs @ the Birchcliffe
‘Upstairs’ at the Birchcliffe is a 250+ seat auditorium… and a multi-purpose stage/classroom/teaching area… and a beautiful mezzanine meeting / conference room.
Each zone can be hired separately or altogether.
Discounts are available for non-for-profit/charitable groups.
The Main Hall is an impressive space and is ideal for conferences, meetings, weddings, dance and fitness classes, film shows, exhibitions.
We also host performances of all kinds (except loud, late, noisy ones – we like getting along with our neighbours).
The original fixed pews seat 100 with good sight-lines plus an extra 50 with restricted sight-lines of the stage.
The floor space seats 110 theatre-style or up to 75 cabaret-style or it can be cleared of all chairs and tables for other activities, including peformances ‘in-the-round’.
A pa system with radio microphones, mini mixing desk and a back projection system are available, and this, combined with our hearing loop system provides clear audio for all.
The Stage or ‘Education Room’ offers a self-contained space, suitable for smaller events.
The room can be set up in a variety of ways using tables and chairs or bean bags, perfect for children and adults alike.
The room contains all the amenities needed for any meeting or conference, with internet access, an interactive white board and full blackout facilities.
The Stage space lends itself as the ideal rehearsal or presentation space, seating up to 50 people lecture style or 30 people classroom/workshop style.
The Mezzanine is situated above the Education Room/Stage. It is a beautiful space that makes the most of the buildings’ architectural features as well as having a stunning view of the auditorium area. Ideal as a meeting room, break-out training room, for board meetings or workshops. This room also has 4 computers available for use, networked and connected to the internet.
The Mezzanine seats 20 boardroom-style, 35 as a training room and 45 theatre-style. Please note – access to this space is via a staircase.
We also have a fully functional up-to-date kitchen with cutlery, crockery and limited cooking equipment. The kitchen features two oven and hob combinations. Cooking for small groups is easily achieved with what we have. Usually larger groups will bring in caterers who can then use the kitchen for final prep work as well as serving. We can help you source local suppliers and caterers.
